Pension Dorfplatzl in Plangeross beneath the Pitztal mountains

Good food belongs in the mountains

At Dorfplatzl we treat food as an important part of your stay.

Baked lasagne from Maťo’s kitchen

Mornings without rushing

Every morning we put out a breakfast buffet with fresh bread and pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, yoghurts, muesli and other good things. Coffee, tea and juices go without saying.

On top of that, Maťo will cook you fresh local eggs exactly the way you like them: scrambled, as an omelette or sunny side up. And if you fancy something sweet, you can have freshly made pancakes.

Heading out on a hike before breakfast, or facing an early race start? Let us know and we will gladly pack your breakfast to take with you.

Maťo serving dinner

In the evening, Maťo cooks

After a day in the mountains you do not have to think about where to go for dinner. Every evening Maťo prepares a three-course menu: a soup, a main course and a homemade dessert.

Before moving to Plangeross he spent more than 30 years in hospitality. In Prague he ran and cooked at his own bistro, Martin’s, whose kitchen drew inspiration from all over the world.

He brought the same approach to cooking with him to Dorfplatzl. Tyrolean ingredients, international cooking and family recipes all meet on the table: bean soup the way Maťo’s mother made it, his legendary wings, or coq au vin.

The menu changes and we cook according to the season, the ingredients we can get and our guests. We are happy to prepare a vegetarian option, and with advance notice we will adapt the food to allergies or other dietary needs.

Guest lounge with the self-service bar at Pension Dorfplatzl

Something to quench your thirst?

In the guest lounge you will find our self-service fridge. It is stocked with local beers, radlers, wines and soft drinks, so you can help yourself whenever you like, settle in comfortably and enjoy the evening your own way. We add the bar tab to your bill at the end of your stay.

Coffee and tea are also available to guests throughout the day.

Whether we meet over dinner after a long day, a glass of wine or a morning coffee, we want eating at Dorfplatzl to feel as relaxed and easy as the rest of your stay.
